What is the meaning of Long term standing?

The term long term standing means the condition which happens after a long duration of standing, walking, or running. It can be worse if it happens several times a week. This can be bad for the health of the person. 

According to the studies, it is said that standing for more than or more hours. In worse condition, it may be standing for over 1 hour. 

When you stand for an extended period, it causes blood to pool in the legs and feet. When this prolong standing happens to exceed the overtime, it may result in inflammation of veins. Further, this inflammation in veins may lead to chronic and painful varicose veins. 

What are the terrible implications of developing long term standing?

When a person suffers from long-term standing, it reduces the blood supply to the muscles. This results in the acceleration of the onset of fatigue. Ultimately, it leads to pain in the powers of the legs, back, and neck. 

Moreover, the pooling of blood in the legs and feet leads to varicose veins. As per medical professionals, it may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. There is also an increase in pressure in the veins and increase oxidative stress. 

You shall notice that the person’s lower limb gets tired quickly. This condition is known as lower limb fatigue. When the person’s lower limb gets weakened, the legs start to cramp or back pain. 

How can you deal with the long term standing?

This condition is not severe but can be quite harmful if left untreated. However, you can maintain control over this condition by following some points. They are as follow: –

  • Wearing comfortable clothes
  • Well-fitting shoes are necessary. 
  • Maintain good posture 
  • Remaining active for proper circulation 
  • Staying well hydrated 

But if the case becomes severe, you immediately need to consult the doctor. The doctor, after proper diagnosis, can prescribe you medications. They shall advise you to take tramadol for same. 

Tramadol belongs to a group of medicines known as opiates or narcotics. It acts on the pain receptors in the central nervous system. Hence, the brain blocks the pain signals to reach the rest of the body. 

Thus, the brain starts to stop feeling the pain messages. However, tramadol doesn’t cure the pain. It only makes the person not feel the pain. Do take it under the supervision of the doctor.
